Step 1: Apply for License Validation

• Start Online: Begin by applying for license verification with the FAA. This involves confirming your current and valid foreign pilot license with your home country’s aviation authority. You can fill out the application online via this FAA link.

• Processing Time: The verification process can take up to 90 days. Once verified, you’ll receive a letter from the FAA, which is valid for six months. It’s crucial to complete the next steps within this timeframe to avoid reapplying.

Step 2: Schedule an Appointment with Our School

• Contact Us: Before you arrive in the U.S., or as soon as you get here, reach out to us to arrange a meeting with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).

• Required Documents and Skills:

• Complete the Airman Certificate Application (FAA Form 8710) online.

• Ensure you can speak, read, and write English fluently.

• Obtain at least a 3rd Class FAA medical certificate—we can help you find a qualified doctor.

• Prepare for the instrument rating knowledge test if applicable.

• Temporary Certificate: After reviewing your documentation and application, the DPE will issue a temporary certificate that allows you to fly. Your official FAA certificate will be mailed to your address.

Step 3: Further Training for CPL or ATP

• Background Checks and Visa Requirements: Non-U.S. citizens must complete a TSA background check and have the appropriate visa to start training.
